Case Study: Kings Place Auditorium

Kings Place is a mixed use development combining spacious offices with a major new arts venue. Located just up from Kings Cross station it's in the hub of London's transport network. The office space is spread across 7 floors all with extensive views across the city.

The arts venue houses a 420 seat auditorium which can be used for concerts as well as conferences and art exhibitions; the venue also offers an array of bars and restaurants located on the waterside.

Artezan, part of the Swift Horsman Group, successfully secured the fit-out package for the Concert Hall and Rehearsal Room. This complex multi discipline fit-out showcases Dixon Jones detailed design and use of materials within a high profile environment.

European Oak is the predominant material in all areas and as Swift Horsman is FSC chain of custody certified all veneer is fully certificated. Due to the use of the building the acoustic properties of our work were a key factor during design, manufacture and installation of all elements of the fit-out.

This fit-out is unique due to the whole package being completed using one single log, which was sourced through our close contact with the saw mill.

Our highly skilled joinery team worked closely together to design manufacture and install the items in this challenging programme.
