Case Study: Antonine Centre

Client: London and Regional Properties
Architect: Keppie
Contractor: Dawn Construction

The Antonine Centre enabled Swift Horsman to apply its varied skills to a retail environment. The project consisted of plasterboard partitions and linings, suspended ceilings and general joinery works.

The project, a shopping mall in Cumbernauld, Scotland, is a development on two levels with links to an existing centre. The steel framed building, insitu concrete floors (with precast concrete cladding) and glazed roof light area required Swift Horsman's wide ranging joinery and fit-out expertise from conception through to completion in order to maintain the architects vision.

With a package value of £1.3 million it was vital that Swift Horsman continued to produce high quality, sustainable works for the whole project duration.

The roof lights above the sunken cafe incorporate featured ceilings, curved bulkheads and decorative panels which enhance the aesthetics of these large areas. Swift Horsman were able to deliver these areas and create a shopping precinct that was both pleasing to the eye and innovative.
