University of St Andrews – BSRC
The new £15M facility will be used for the study of new viral, bacterial and parasitic disease including MRSA and C. Difficile. The facility will also focus on research of sleeping sickness, HIV, tuberculosis and bird flu. The multi-disciplinary facility is part of the Biomedical Sciences Research Centre (BSRC) at the university.
Swift Horsman have been contracted to work on 2 of the buildings – the first is the Purdie Building which includes;-
• Drylining
• Perimeter wall panelling
• Lab furniture
The 2nd building is the BMS Annexe which includes;-
• Metsec
• Drylining
• Doors and Ironmongery
• Lab furniture
• Lockers
• Timber screens
• Perimeter wall panelling
• Handrails
We started on site at the Purdie Building on the 8th November and are due to complete on the 25th March 2011. Work is due to commence on the BMS Annexe on the 13th December 2010 with completion by early November 2011.
