Sustainable approach selected for new landmark building
Offsite manufacture and assembly were the key drivers in BAM Construct’s decision to select Swift Horsman for the washroom fit out within the construction of the new Co-operative Society Headquarters building in Manchester. Our Podwall system was once again able to demonstrate the benefits of lowering site based carbon emissions and waste to landfill through reduced programme time onsite. Reducing safety risk and increased quality control were also key benefits in choosing the Podwall system.
The use of solid modelling technology also played a major part in this success. By offering manufacturing based high definition visualisations at pre-award stage we were able pull forward the design development phase of the contract. This has enabled manufacturing to commence much sooner following contract award.
Swift Horsman is currently undertaking a series of initiatives with major contractors and organisations to develop its solid modelling workflows and its integration and use of Building Information Modelling techniques.
