Swift are shortlisted

Swift Horsman (Group) Ltd has been shortlisted for the 'Large Employer of the Year' category at the Bright Sparks East of England Apprenticeship Awards 2009.

The awards are designed to publicly recognise the successes and benefits of apprenticeships across the region.

On Tuesday 2nd June, Nicola Roope, Associate Director of HR and Gary Saunders, Managing Director of Swift Horsman (Group) Ltd will be attending the Bright Sparks Award Ceremony where the winner and highly commended awards will be made in each category.

Should we be announced as the regional winner in our category at the East of England Apprenticeship Awards on the 2nd June, our entry will then progress through to the National Apprenticeship Awards judging panel for the final stage of the competition. We will then have the potential to be awarded National Employer of the Year in our category.

Only a small percentage of entrants passed the initial assessment stage and proceeded to the judging panel, so to have reached this stage is already a huge achievement.

In addition to this, our nomination has also been put forward and selected for the Local Area Apprenticeship Awards 2009.

Recognition of these local awards will take place in conjunction with the Big Skill Awards 2009 Hertfordshire which takes place on Tuesday 16th June 2009.

The Big Skills initiative is organised by the Learning and Skills Council in Partnership with BBC East to recognise people from the region who have improved their own life, or the lives of others, through learning.

The Apprentice Awards are in their 6th year and they are hosted by the Learning Skills Council who manage and fund apprenticeships in England.
