SwiftWall @ 20 Chesham Place

This project is a complete hotel refurbishment, working with Vivid Interiors Ltd, who is a new client to the Swift Horsman Group.

The former Sheraton Belgravia hotel in London is to be rebranded under the luxury Thompson Hotels portfolio from next year.

Located at 20 Chesham Place SW1X in the upmarket residential area of Belgravia, the 80 room hotel closed its doors for refurbishment on December 31, 2009, and left the Sheraton brand on the same date.

The property is now set to be rebranded under the Thompson Hotels group, joining ten other hotels within the portfolio – five in New York, two in LA, and one each in Washington DC, Chicago and Toronto. A further property is also due to open in the South Korean capital of Seoul in 2012.

The hotel is due to reopen in the summer of 2011.

Swiftwall’s scope of works includes all the dry lining walls and ceilings, bulkheads, blind box bulkheads, access panels shadow gaps & recessed skirting, plus interfacing with timber panelling, bay window seating and other details to a very high standard. Swiftwall commenced on site on 2nd August 2010, our contract at this stage is for 24 weeks however Swiftwall still have 3 floors to prices which will mean our value will increase and the time on site accordingly.

Progress on site to date: we started the 1st fix partitions on 12th August 2010 in this time we have constructed 7 floors (67 rooms) out of 9 with the remaining two floors (13 rooms) being completed in 3 weeks time. The project is a small foot print, therefore all materials are being loaded out via a 2 tonne beam hoist to level 2 and then loaded out up the building via the hoist. Due to the lack of space for storage the logistics requires a lot of planning to ensure the materials are on site at the right time.
