AIS Certificates of Excellence

On Tuesday 8th June at the AIS Presidents Dinner Swift Horsman were awarded two certificates of excellence, one for Specialist Joinery and the other for Interior Fit Outs, both for the outstanding work on the CIP Lounge at Heathrow Terminal 3.

The new CIP (Commercially Important Passengers) Lounge for Terminal 3 will provide British Airway’s first and club class passengers with facilities equal to the quality and standard already achieved at Terminal 5.

Certificate of Excellence for Specialist Joinery

The newly designed space now comprises of two separate lounge areas for First Class and Club Class passengers, incorporating visually stunning reception areas, illuminated back bars, illuminated island bars, first class wine galleries, news displays and many other luxurious specialist individual items.

Swift Horsman were contracted to provide a combination of large scale specialist joinery furniture created from fumed oak, coloured glass panelling with image interlayer’s, corian and granite finishes, specialist metal works, specialist LED lighting and chilled refrigeration units.

Based on the architects design we provided full working drawings, from which all items of specialist joinery were manufactured in our own factory facility.  Using modern methods of construction all of the pre-engineered furniture and finishes were delivered to site in modules ready for quick and efficient installation.

Certificate of Excellence for Interior Fit Out

Swift Horsman were contracted to design, manufacture and install the entire bathroom and shower areas, which because of our expertise in modern methods of construction, we chose to do using Pods.

The Pods were designed to contain the entire range of services, fixtures, fittings and finishes required for this high quality area.  This was achieved by using our Podwall Pod system to form the structure, this allowed for quick and easy installation.

All Pods were manufactured in our factory by directly employed multi skilled labour, with materials being supplied via our extensive supply chain.  The unbroken chain between our own design and factory ensures consistency of quality and efficient production methods resulting in a highly shortened programme.

Installation was simple with fully completed Pods simply bolted together and services connected providing an instantly usable washroom and shower facility.

As with all projects, Swift Horsman attention to detail, high quality of workmanship and level of expertise were vital to ensure a finished project in keeping with the reputation and expectations of British Airways.
